Utility Finishing Operator II

Description:
The Utility Finishing Operator Level II position is responsible for a combination of work performed in the finishing area including cut, trim, coil punch & bind, large fold, case-binding, Duplo, 3-kniftrimmer, Auto drill and off-line perfect binding.
In addition, tthis position will be responsible for operating saddle stitching equipment and for providing support to the digital roll-fed engines as needed.
The Utility Finishing Operator Level II will be certified to set-up and operate all equipment related to the above functions or activities and also may be assigned a specific area of prime responsibility.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing the work in accordance with our safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost efficiency and process reliability expectations. The Utility Finishing Operator Level II may be required to perform other finishing job functions as needed.

Description:
The Print Operator is responsible for producing work on digital engines. Job functions include set up and operation of print engines, plus perfect bind, saddle-stitch, perf, inserting and stacking equipment and attachments. Cut/trim books, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment.

Will be certified to set-up and operate all equipment related to the above functions or activities and may also be assigned a specific area of prime responsibility. May be required to perform other job functions as needed.

Description:
The Digital Color Print Operator is responsible for work performed at the digital color presses. Job functions include producing color printed materials such as covers, color pages, brochures, etc from electronic files on the digital color printer. Troubleshoot, service, and maintain the presses and cost effective use of consumables.
This position may require minimal travel to attend training courses.

Description:
This position is a resource for all safety, health and environmental related activities for all areas of the Company. This position will help ensure that Midland complies with all regulatory requirements in these areas and will be a leader in implementing and maintaining improvement initiatives through all levels of the organization.
This position:
- Stays current with all regulatory requirements relative to safety and health and assists in implementing them within Midland’s environment
- Provides consultative support to management, teams and individuals relative to safety policies, issues, guidelines and practices
- Develops and maintains safety procedures, guidelines and instructions; guides, coordinates, documents and follows-up on all safety audits performed; provides safety performance measurements; maintains complete and accurate records and statistics; Coordinates and delivers safety communications
- Develops and performs safety training
- Stays abreast of developing approaches and practices in safety and helps determine applicability to Midland
- Maintains computer skills to support needed record keeping, documentation and training
- Coaches employees to develop safety skills and understanding; motivates to achieve safety excellence
- Responsible for cataloging chemicals and maintaining Safety Data Sheets
- Though primarily a 1st shift position, this position may be required to work off-shift hours to accommodate our 2nd and 3rd shifts.
